If you have problems, the following hints might help.  If you still have
problems, take the Model 17 to your local Radio Shack store for
assistance.

SYMPTOM                     SUGGESTED SOLUTION

No power.                   Be sure the AC adapter or DC power cord is
                            properly connected.

                            Check the DC power cord's fuse.

Poor TV picture.            Be sure the built-in antenna is properly
                            adjusted or the outdoor antenna is properly
                            connected.

                            Adjust the picture.

Poor VCR picture.           Try another video cassette.

                            Have the video heads cleaned (by a trained
                            technician only).

                            Adjust the picture.

No sound.                   Adjust the volume.

No picture or sound.        Press MONITOR OFF.

                            Press INPUT SELECT so AUX disappears.

Tape does not rewind to     Press MEMORY so M disappears.
the beginning or fast-
forward to the end of the
tape.

Cannot record.              Be sure the tape's erase-protection window is
                            open.

Cannot play or record.      If DEW appears on the screen, the dew
                            protection system is in effect.  Wait until
                            DEW disappears to use the VCR.
