USING THE REMOTE CONTROL

The remote control has the same buttons as the front panel of the VCP. To
use the remote control, point it at the INFRARED REMOTE sensor on the
VCP's front panel and press the desired button.

PLAYING A TAPE

Follow these steps to play a video cassette tape.

1. Turn on the TV and set its tuner to the same channel as the VCP's
CHANNEL switch. See "Setting the Channel Switch."

NOTE: If you used the connections under "Connecting to a TV/Monitor,"
set the TV/monitor's Video/TV switch the video mode.

2. If you connected the VCP to your stereo system and are using a Hi-Fi
tape, set the L/ST/R/NOR selector to ST. Or, if you connected the VCP
to your TV's mono input, set the L/ST/R/NOR to NOR. See "Playback
    with Hi-Fi Stereo Sound."

3. Hold the cassette with its main label facing up and its spine facing
toward you. Load the cassette by gently pushing in on its center
until the VCP pulls in the cassette. The VCP's power automatically
turns on, the CST.IN indicator lights, and the tape begins to play.

CAUTION: Never insert anything except a VHS video cassette into the
          cassette compartment.

4. Press STOP to stop playing the tape.

5. Press EJECT to eject the cassette.

6. Press POWER to turn off the VCP.

Auto Power, Playback, Rewind

Your VCP's auto power and auto playback features let you automatically
turn on the VCP and begin play by simply inserting a video cassette.

When the tape reaches the end during play, auto rewind automatically
rewinds the tape to its beginning, ejects the cassette, and turns off the
power.

DUBBING TO A VCR

You can use your VCP to play back a video cassette tape while a VCR
records the tape. Connect the VCP's AUDIO R/L and VIDEO OUT jack to the
VCR's audio right/left and video input jacks.

Follow these steps to copy a video cassette tape.

1. Load a pre-recorded video cassette into the VCP.

2. Load a blank video cassette or one you want to record over, into the
    VCR.

3. If the VCR has an input select switch, set the switch to the video
    setting.

4. Select the desired recording speed on the VCR.

5. Begin recording on the VCR.

6. Press PLAY (X2) on the VCP to begin tape playback.

NOTE: You can connect the VCR's audio/video output jacks to a
TV/monitor's input jacks and watch the tape as it is recorded. See
       the VCR's owner manual.
