Portable TV (160-0165) Power Faxback Doc. # 7817

BATTERIES

Your TV uses six AA batteries (not supplied). For best results, we
recommend alkaline batteries such as Radio shack Cat. No. 23-552.

1. Lift the stand, and slide off the battery compartment cover in the
    direction of the arrow.

2. Insert six AA alkaline batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols
(+ and -) marked inside the battery compartment.

CAUTION: Installing the batteries incorrectly can damage the TV.

3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

NOTE: The TV can operate for about 3 hours with alkaline batteries. When
the sound level lowers or the picture becomes unstable, replace the
       batteries.

AC POWER

You can power the TV from a standard AC outlet. You must use an optional
AC adapter that supplies 9 volts and delivers at least 500 mA. Its center
tip must be set to negative, and its plug must correctly fit the TVs DC IN
9V jack. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could
seriously damage the TV or the adapter. Set the adapter's voltage switch
to 9V. We recommend Radio Shack Cat. No. 273-1651.

NOTES: Do not leave the adapter plugged into the AC outlet or connected
to the TV when you are not using the TV.

Always unplug the adapter from the AC outlet first.

The internal batteries automatically disconnect when you plug the
adapter into the DC IN 9v jack.

The adapter might become warn after extended period of use. This
        is normal.

VEHICLE BATTERY POWER

You can use an optional DC adapter to power the TV from your vehicle's
cigarette-lighter socket if your vehicle has a 12-volt DC, negative-ground
electrical system.

You must use a DC adapter that supplies 9 volts and delivers at least 500
mA. Its center tip must be set to negative, and its plug must correctly
fit the TVs DC IN 9V jack. Using an adapter that does not meet these
specifications could seriously damage the TV or the adapter. Set the
adapter's voltage switch to 9v. We recommend Radio Shack Cat. No. 270-
1562.

CAUTION: Always connect the adapter to the TV before you connect it to
the cigarette-lighter socket. then, disconnect it from the
cigarette-lighter socket before you disconnect it from the TV.

NOTES: If the TV does not operate properly when you use DC power, be sure
the cigarette-lighter socket is clean and that the adapter's plug
is pushed all the way into the socket.

Do not leave the adapter plugged into the cigarette-lighter socket
or connected to the TV when you are not using the TV.

The internal batteries automatically disconnect when you plug the
adapter into the DC IN 9V jack.
