Model 36 (160-0706) Playing a Tape Faxback Doc. # 6528
Follow these steps to play a pre-recorded tape.
1. Turn on the TV and set it to the same channel as the VCR's CHANNEL
switch setting (3 or 4).
If you are using a TV that is connected to the VCR's AUDIO/VIDEO
OUTPUT jacks, set it to the video mode. Be sure the VCR's OUTPUT
SELECT is set to NTSC or THRU. (See "Output Select.")
2. Hold the cassette with the main label facing up and the spine facing
out from the VCR. Then insert the cassette into the VCR's compartment
and gently push the center of its spine until the VCR completely draws
it in.
The VCR turns on automatically and the tape indicator lights.
If the erase-protection window has been removed, playback
automatically begins.
Caution: Never insert anything except a VHS video cassette into the
cassette compartment. You might damage the VCR's internal
mechanisms.
3. If playback does not automatically begin, press PLAY on the VCR.
Be sure that the NTSC3.58 indicator on the VCR's front panel is lit.
If you are playing a NTSC tape on an NTSC4.43 TV and the image has no
color, press SYSTEM until the NTSC4.43 indicator lights.
4. Press STOP on the VCR to stop playback before the end of the tape.
Then press EJECT on the VCR to eject the tape.
If the tape reaches the end before you press STOP, the VCR
automatically stops the tape and completely rewinds it. The VCR
ejects the cassette and turns off after the tape fully rewinds.
Note: The Model 36 plays cassettes recorded in SP speed in all color
systems or tapes recorded in SP or EP speed in NTSC3.58. The VCR
automatically detects the tape speed and adjusts itself
accordingly.
