TV Operation
1. Press POWER ON/OFF to the ON (in) position to turn power on.
2. Rotate VOLUME to the desired listening level.
3. Slide CD/RADIO/TV to TV.
4. Slide VHF-L/VHF-H/UHF to the desired band as follows.
Channels Use
2 - 6 VHF-L
7 - 13 VHF-H
14 - 69 UHF
5. Slowly rotate TUNING to the desired station.
6. Adjust the built-in telescoping antenna for the best picture and
sound. (See "Using the built-in Antenna" in Faxback Doc. # 58084.)
7. Adjust BRIGHT and CONTRAST on the left side of the TV until the
desired picture appears.
8. If necessary, adjust V-HOLD on the left side to stop any vertical roll
in the TV's picture.
9. To turn off the TV, press POWER ON/OFF to the OFF (out) position.
Notes: If the image is blurry, unstable, or has "snow," the signal might
be Weak. This can be caused by the TV's location or the position
and length of the telescoping antenna. Buildings made with large
amounts of steel can cause reception problems. Try changing the
position and the length of the antenna. If this does not help,
use an outdoor antenna.
If the picture shrinks during battery power operation, the
batteries might be weak. Check and replace (or recharge) the
batteries as needed.
Radio Operation
1. Press POWER ON/OFF in to turn power on.
2. Slide CD/RADIO/TV to RADIO.
3. Slide AM/FM/FM ST (Stereo) to the desired band.
4. Slowly rotate TUNING to the desired station.
5. Rotate VOLUME to the desired listening level.
6. Rotate TONE to get the desired tone.
7. To turn off the TV, press POWER ON/OFF to the OFF (out) position.
Notes: If FM reception is weak, try changing the position of the
telescoping antenna.
If FM stereo reception with AM/FM/FM ST set to FM ST is weak,
slide it To FM. The sound is no longer in stereo, but reception
should improve.
Weak AM reception might be due to the distance of the station or a
building with steel construction. Turn the TV in different
directions for the best reception.
CD Operation
Loading/Unloading a CD
1. Press POWER/ON/OFF in to turn power on.
2. Set CD/RADIO/TV to CD. (-) briefly appears on the display.
3. Press the dots under PUSH on the CD compartment door so the door
springs open.
4. Place a CD in the compartment with the label facing up.
5. Close the CD compartment door. The total number of tracks appears on
the display.
Note: If the CD has more than 39 tracks, the first digit on the
display is replaced with a symbol. For example, if the CD has
44 tracks, (3 stacked dashes) 4 appears.
6. To remove the CD, open the compartment door, grasp the CD by its edges
and carefully pull it out.
Playing a CD
1. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play all the tracks in order, starting with Track
(1). The current track number appears on the display.
Note: Press PLAY/PAUSE again to temporarily stop the CD. The current
track number flashes. Press PLAY/PAUSE again to resume playing
the CD.
2. Adjust VOLUME to a comfortable level.
3. Rotate TONE to HI to increase the treble sound or LO to increase the
bass.
4. Press STOP to stop playing the CD before all tracks have played. Wait
a few seconds for the CD to stop turning, then press the dots under
PUSH on the CD door to open the CD compartment door. Remove the CD.
Automatic Search Music System
The automatic search music system lets you quickly locate the beginning of
any track on the CD, including the track currently playing.
If the CD is stopped, repeatedly press |<< SKIP or SKIP >>| until the
display shows the number of the track you want to play, then press PLAY >.
The CD player starts playing the selected track.
If the CD is playing:
1. Press |<< SKIP to return to the beginning of the current track.
2. Press |<< SKIP again to skip to the beginning of the previous track.
3. Press SKIP >>| to skip to the beginning of the next tract.
To search backward or forward within a track while the CD is playing, hold
down either |<< SKIP or SKIP >>|. You hear the track play rapidly and at
a lower volume. Release the button to resume normal play.
Repeat Play
This function lets you repeat the current track or an entire CD.
To repeat the current track, press REPEAT 1/ALL twice during play. The
REPEAT 1 indicator appears and the CD player continuously replays the
current track.
To repeat an entire CD, press REPEAT 1/ALL once. The REPEAT indicator
appears and the CD player continuously replays the entire CD.
To cancel repeat play, press REPEAT 1/ALL until the REPEAT indicator
disappears.
