Connecting an External Antenna

If you are in an area with weak TV signals, or are inside a metal or
concrete building, you might need an external antenna to improve
reception. Remove the connector cove and connect the antenna to the
EXT ANT jack.

If you antenna wire is 75-Ohm coaxial cable, use an F-to-1/8-inch plug
adapter to complete the connections. (We recommend Cat. No. 278-257.)
If you have 300-Ohm wire, use a 300-to-75-Ohm mini plug adapter. (We
recommend Cat. No. 15-1148.)

Connecting an Earphone

For private listening, you can connect an earphone (available at your
local RadioShack store) with a 1/8 inch plug. Remove the connector cover
and connect the earphone to the EAR jack. This disconnects the internal
speaker.

CAUTIONS: Set VOLUME to the lowest setting before you begin listening.
Then adjust the volume to a comfortable level.

Do not wear an earphone while operating a motor vehicle or
riding a bicycle. This can cause a traffic hazard and could
           be illegal in some areas.

Using the TV as a Monitor

You can play back the signal from an audio/video component on your TV
using a special Y-adapter cable (not supplied) available through your
local RadioShack store (RSU No. 10005890).

Connect the cable's white plug to the component's video output jack and
its red plug to the component's audio output jack. Then remove the
connector cover and plug the cable's 1/8-inch plug into the TV's
AUDIO/VIDEO jack.

Notes: Do not use a standard audio patch cord. This distorts the audio
        and video signals.

When an audio/video component is connected, antenna signals do not
        pass through to the TV.
