SELECTING CHANNELS
To select a channel, press CH /\ or CH \/. The tuner automatically
advances to the next channel stored in the tuner's memory. The selected
channel number (and station call letters, if you stored them) appears on
the upper right part of the screen for a few seconds.
You can also select channels directly using the number keys on the remote
control. You can choose any channel within the tuner's range, even those
not stored in memory.
Notes:
* Precede a single-digit number with a 0; for example, 01, 02, etc.
* To enter a three-digit channel number, press 100 then enter the second
and third digits of the number.
VIEWING TV
1. Press POWER to turn on the TV/VCR if necessary.
2. Select the channel you want to watch.
3. To adjust the volume, repeatedly press VOL - < or VOL + > on the remote
control, or VOLUME -/+ on the front of the TV/VCR. A bar graph and a
number appear, showing the currently set volume.
ADJUSTING THE PICTURE
Follow these steps to adjust the picture's contrast (picture), brightness,
color, tint, and sharpness.
1. Press MENU/ACTION on the remote control to select the main menu.
2. If necessary, use CH /\, CH \/, VOL - <, and VOL + > on the remote
control to highlight TV.
3. Press MENU/ACTION to display the SET UP TV screen.
4. Repeatedly press CH /\ or CH \/ to highlight VIDEO ADJUST.
5. Press VOL + >. A screen appears with the current picture settings.
6. Repeatedly press CH /\ or CH \/ until the setting you want to adjust is
highlighted.
Note: To reset all settings to their factory defaults, select NORMAL
then press VOL + >.
7. Use VOL - < or VOL + > to adjust the picture as desired.
8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 to adjust the other setting(s) as necessary.
9. When you finish, press MENU/ACTION three times to exit.
Note: If you do not press any button within 5 minutes, the picture
setting screen disappears.
USING MUTE
To temporarily turn off the TV/VCR's sound press MUTE on the remote
control. MUTE appears.
To restore the sound to the previous level, press MUTE again. To restore
the sound and change its level, press VOL + > or VOL - <.
USING LAST CHANNEL RECALL
Repeatedly press LCR (Last Channel Recall) on the remote control to switch
between the channel you are watching and the previous channel tuned, and
vice versa.
USING CHANNEL CAPTION
You can assign call letters (such as ABC or CBS) to a channel so the call
letters appear with the channel number when you select the channel. You
can select from the TV/VCR's 24 preset call letter combinations and create
up to 10 call letter combinations of your own.
Follow these steps to assign any of the TV/VCR's 24 preset call letter
combinations to stations in your area.
1. Press MENU/ACTION to display the main menu.
2. Repeatedly press CH /\ or CH \/ to highlight CH, then press
MENU/ACTION. You see:

3. If necessary, repeatedly press CH /\ or CH \/ to highlight CHANNEL
CAPTION, then press >.
4. If necessary, repeatedly press /\ or \/ to highlight PRESET CAPTION,
then press VOL + >. You see:

5. Press VOL + >. A screen with preset call letters appears. The cursor
moves to the dashes to the right of ABC.
6. Repeatedly press CH /\ or CH \/ to change the channel number. When the
correct channel number for the ABC station in you area appears, press
VOL + >. The cursor moves to the next preset call letters.
Note: Only the channel numbers stored in TV/VCR tuner memory appear.
7. If necessary, press CH /\ or CH \/ to move to the next call letters
available in your area and repeat Step 6 to assign call letters to all
channel numbers in your area, up to 24 stations.
8. When you have finished assigning call letters, review the entered
information. If any call letters are not correct, use CH /\, CH \/,
VOL + >, and VOL - < to highlight the wrong entry. Use CH /\ or CH \/
to change the call letters, or ADD/DLT to delete the call letters.
9. Press MENU/ACTION four times to exit.
Follow these steps to manually create up to 10 of your own call letter
combinations.
1. Follow Steps 1-3 under "Using Channel Caption," above.
2. Repeatedly press CH /\ or CH \/ to highlight MANUAL CAPTION, then press
VOL + >.
3. Repeatedly press CH /\ or CH \/ to select a channel number, then press
VOL + >. The cursor moves to the dashes to the right of the channel
number.
Note: Channels already assigned with preset call letters or deleted
from the TV/VCR's memory do not appear as you press CH /\ or CH \/.
4. Repeatedly press (or hold down) CH /\ or CH \/ to display the first
character of the station's name. Then press VOL + > to set the
character.
5. Repeat Step 4 enter other characters (up to a total of four).
To correct an error, use VOL + > and VOL - < to move the cursor to the
right or left then enter the correct character. To clear all call
letters, press ADD/DLT.
6. Repeatedly press VOL - < to highlight any channel number, then repeat
Steps 3-5 to create more call letter combinations (up to 10).
7. Press MENU/ACTION four times to exit.
VIEWING AN EXTERNAL DEVICE
To view the signals from an external device connected to the audio/video
input jacks on the front of the TV/VCR (see "Connecting an External
Device," Faxback Doc. # xxxxx), repeatedly press CH /\ or CH \/ to select
one channel higher than the highest programmed channel or one channel lower
than the lowest programmed channel. LINE appears on the TV screen.
USING THE FM RADIO TUNER
Your TV/VCR has a built-in FM tuner. You can tune FM stations, preset up
to 9 stations into the TV/VCR's memory, and recall a stored station by
pressing a single button.
Note: You cannot store or recall FM stations while playing or recording a
tape or while MENU/ACTION, PROG, or ON-TIMER appears on the TV screen.
Storing FM Stations
1. Press FM/TV on the remote control. The time, FM, a memory location
number, and the frequency for an FM station appear.
2. To tune an FM station, repeatedly press or hold down CH /\ or CH \/ to
select the desired frequency. You hear the frequency you tuned. The
frequency changes in 0.2 MHz increments.
3. Press ADD/DLT. MEMORIZED appears and the TV/VCR stores the tuned
station.
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to store more stations.
To replace a stored station, simply store a new one in its place.
Recalling Stored Stations
1. Press FM/TV on the remote control.
2. Use the number keys on the remote control (1-9) to enter the memory
location number for the station you want to listen to.
The current time, station frequency, and memory location number appear
on the TV screen.
To view the time (and the channel the TV/VCR is currently set to), press
DISPLAY. To exit, press FM/TV again.
Notes:
* You cannot use the TV/VCR to record an FM broadcast on a video tape.
* If FM reception is poor, try repositioning the TV/VCR to improve it.
