Remote Operation

Installing the Batteries

1.  Open the battery compartment by sliding the compartment door in the
    direction of the arrows.

2.  Install two AAA batteries, as shown inside the compartment & observe
    proper polarity.

3.  Replace the compartment door.

Using the Remote Control

When using the remote control be sure it is pointed toward the sensor
window on the set.

If remote control operation is erratic, or if the remote control does not
work at all, check to see that the battery indicator lights when you press
a button.  If it does not light or is dim, replace the batteries.

You can access any channel, regardless of memory programming by pressing
the number buttons on the remote control.  If you select a single-digit
channel number, the tuner changes channels after a four-second delay.  To
immediately change to a single-digit channel, precede the channel number
with a zero (02, 03, and so on).

Special Remote Functions

Mute - To temporarily turn off the internal speakers, press (MUTE) on the
       remote control unit.  Press (MUTE) or a volume control button to 
       restore the sound to its original volume.  The AUDIO jack is not 
       affected by this button.

Flashback (TV Mode only) - To immediately switch to the previous channel,
                           press (FLASHBACK) on the remote control. Press
                           (FLASHBACK) again to return to the original
                           channel.

Sleep - To set the TC-1010 to turn off automatically after a preset period
        of time, press (SLEEP SET) on the remote control.  Press this 
        button once for a 30-minute period,twice for 60-minutes, and three
        times for 90-minutes.  After you press the button, the display 
        shows the sleep timer period for four seconds.  Then it reverts to 
        the channel display.

        The SLEEP indicator lights when the sleep function has been 
        activated.  To turn the timer off, press (SLEEP SET) so that 00 
        is displayed.

        To review the time remaining, press (SLEEP CALL), the display 
        shows the time remaining for four seconds and then reverts to 
        the channel display.

        You can change the timer length during sleep operation.  Simply 
        press (SLEEP SET) as many times as necessary.
