Model 150 Compact Moviecorder
(160-0851) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 44989
No water, dust or sand. Be careful that no water, dust or sand enters the
Model 150 because it may cause damage.
The solid-state image sensor is basically immune to direct sunlight or
excessively bright objects, however, avoid prolonged exposure to these
adverse situations because excess heat can develop.
When you are not using the Model 150, move the lens cover (mode selector)
so that is covers the lens and exposes the VCR controls.
Be sure not to leave the Model 150 in a place where the temperature exceeds
120 degrees F (50 degrees C), or the image sensor will deteriorate. Be
careful not to leave the unit in the following places:
- Inside a car with the windows closed and in direct sunshine.
- Near heating appliances.
- In direct sunshine in summer.
Do not leave the viewfinder lens facing sunlight for a prolonged period,
or the phosphorescent surface of the cathode ray tube may be damaged.
Cabinet Cleaning
Wipe the cabinet of the camcorder with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Stains
should be removed with a soft cloth immersed in lukewarm water and wrung
dry.
Never use a solvent or alcohol. Do not spray insecticide liquid near the
camcorder. Such chemicals may cause damage and discoloration to the exposed
surfaces.
Head Cleaning
Picture playback may become blurred or interrupted. This does not mean
that the recorded program has been erased. Dirt accumulated on the head
after long periods of use causes this problem. In this case, head cleaning
requiring highly technical care is necessary. For head cleaning, consult
the nearest Radio Shack store.
Clean heads only when problems occur.
Servicing
Should your camcorder become inoperable, do not try to solve the problem
yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Switch the power
off and take the unit to a Radio Shack's authorized Video Service Center
for servicing.
