Remote Control Operation

You can operate all the Model 20 tape transport functions, and more, from
the wireless remote control (included).  Before using the Remote Control,
you must set the REMOTE CONTROL switch on the VCR to ON.

Battery Insertion

1.  Open the lid.

2.  Install 2 "AA" 1.5 volt batteries (sold separately) as indicated by the
    (+) and (-) signs.

3.  Replace the lid.

NOTES: Remove the batteries from the Remote Control Unit if it is not to be
       used for long periods of time.

       The battery life under normal operating conditions is approximately
       one year. When the batteries become weak, the operable distance will
       decrease; when this occurs, replace the batteries.

Operation

Set REMOTE switch to ON.

Use new batteries and operate within approx. 20 ft. (6 m) of the front of
the VCR.

Remote Indicator:

Use to confirm that the Remote Control is transmitting a signal; the indi-
cator should light whenever a button is pressed.

TV CHANNEL Buttons:

Use to select the desired channel.  The channels will be scanned in the
direction of the arrow on the button you press.

REWIND/SEARCH Button:

Press, when in the stop mode, to rewind the tape rapidly.

Press during playback to view the video program at high speed in the reverse
direction.  The picture will be less than normal viewing quality.

Press PLAY to return to normal playback.

STOP Button:

Press to stop the tape and disengage the tape mechanism.

PAUSE/STILL Button:

Press to temporarily stop the tape during playback or recording; press the
button again to resume playback or recording.  Other buttons will not work
when the unit is in the pause still mode.

TV/VCR Button:

Press to change between the TV and VCR modes.

POWER Button:

Press to turn the Model 20 on or off.

RECORD Buttons:

To record, press both of these buttons. In order to prevent mistaken record-
ing, the VCR will not enter the recorded mode unless both of these buttons
are pressed.

PLAY Button:

Press to begin playback.

FAST Forward/SEARCH Button:

Press, when in the stop mode, to advance the tape rapidly.

Press during playback to view the video program at high speed (9 times Beta
III playback speed).  The picture will be less than normal viewing quality.
You will get best results in the Beta III mode.

Press PLAY to return to normal playback.

NOTE:  When in the record mode, STOP must be pressed before using FAST-
       Forward/SEARCH or REWIND/SEARCH.
