BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE

Check these items to see if you can correct the trouble by a slight
adjustment of controls.

Trouble:

No picture or sound

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if ok, possible station trouble.

Is TV adapter plugged in?  Is Power plug in outlet?

Is TV POWER switch on?

Is antenna connected to the jack on the side of the set?

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Are batteries fresh and in correct polarity?

Trouble:

Picture OK, Sound Poor

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if ok, possible station trouble.

Reorient antenna.

Check for local interference.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Trouble:

Sound OK, Picture Poor

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

Is antenna connected to the jack on the side of the set?

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Reorient antenna.

Check for local interference.

Trouble:

Picture Blurred

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Reorient antenna.

Trouble:

Ghosts in Picture

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

Is antenna connected to the jack on the side of the set?

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Reorient antenna.

Check for local interference.

Trouble:

Lines or Streaks in Picture

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Reorient antenna.

Check for local interference.

Trouble:

Weak Picture

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

Is antenna connected to the jack on the side of the set?

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Reorient antenna.

Trouble:

Poor Reception on Some Channels

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

Is antenna connected to the jack on the side of the set?

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Reorient antenna.

Check for local interference.

Is the correct band button pressed?

Trouble:

No Color

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Is antenna connected to the jack on the side of the set?

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Reorient antenna.

Trouble:

Picture Rolls Vertically

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Adjust TUNING (VHF/UHF) or COLOR.

Reorient antenna.

Check for local interference.

Adjust V Hold.

Trouble:

Picture Distorted

Possible Solutions:

Try a new channel:  if OK, possible station trouble.

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Reorient antenna.

Trouble:

Bars on Screen

Possible Solution:

If using outside antenna, check for broken wires.

Re-orient antenna.

Check for local interference.

Trouble:

No Battery Operation

Possible Solution:

Is TV POWER switch on?

Are batteries fresh and in correct polarity?

Trouble:

No In-Vehicle Operation

Possible Solutions:

Is TV adapter plugged in?
Is Power plug in outlet?

Is TV POWER switch on?

Is DC adapter connected at both ends?

Note:  If any of these problems go away during AC operation, your batteries
       may be weak.
