MOD-42 Cable Ready Stereo VCR
(160-0612) Dubbing Faxback Doc. # 41006
The process of recording from one VCR to another is called "dubbing".
You can use VHF signals to make such recordings, but separate audio/video
signals are preferred.
Always use video-quality shielded cables with RCA-type connectors, such as
Cat. No. 15-1537. Do not use standard Hi-Fi patch cords.
You can use a video disc player, satellite receiver, or other unit with A/V
outputs in place of the playback VCR.
Connections
Connect the video and audio outputs of the playback VCR to the corresponding
VIDEO and AUDIO IN jacks of the Model 42.
Playback VCR Set-Up

Recording Simul-Casts
In simul-casts, the stereo sound for a TV program is broadcast on the radio
at the same time as the TV program is shown. Some cable companies use the
same procedure, except that the radio signal is carried by the cable wire.
In either case, use the following steps to record the program with stereo
sound.
1. Connect the tape-out jacks of your stereo receiver to the AUDIO IN
jacks of the VCR.
2. Turn on the VCR and stereo receiver. Tune the radio to the desired
station.
3. Insert a blank tape, or one you want to record over, into the cassette
compartment.
4. Press INPUT SELECT so that SIMUL appears on the display.
5. Use the CHANNEL buttons (< >) to select the desired channel.
6. Press RECORD.
