Do not leave the set in direct sunlight or in extremely hot (above
60 degrees C) or humid places. When a car is parked in the sun, unless
the windows are open, it gets very hot. Therefore, do not leave the
unit in a car parked in the sun or, if unavoidable, place it in a shaded
  area.

Do not cover or block any of the ventilation slits on the unit.

To prevent shock hazards, do not use the set in a bathroom while
  operating on AC current.

Disconnect the AC power cord from the outlet and remove the batteries if
the set is not to be used for an extended period of time. Never leave
weak or dead batteries in your unit. They may swell and leak damaging
chemicals (even "leak-proof" type) and ruin your unit permanently.

When the cabinet is dirty, clean with a soft cloth soaked in soapy
water. Benzine, thinner or insert spray will cause deterioration
of the surface finish or cracks in the cabinet.

The set may not operate if quickly moved from a cold (less than 0
degrees C) place to a hot (i.e. from outdoors to indoors in winter).
In this case, allow 30 minutes in the hot place before turning on (to
  permit drying of frost.)
