TV AM/FM Radio
(160-0100) Operation Faxback Doc. # 40752

Select the desired power source and antenna as previously described.

1. Turn on the Power OFF/VOLUME knob.

2. Set the FUNCTION Switch to TV position.

3. Select the TV band with TV BAND Selector.

4. Tune slowly to the desired station by adjusting the TV Tuning
    Control.

5. To obtain the best picture, adjust the BRIGHT and CONTRAST
    controls.

6. To obtain the desired sound level adjust the VOLUME Control.

NOTE: To stop vertical "roll" of picture, adjust Vertical HOLD
Control. For horizontal "tear" of picture, adjust
Horizontal HOLD Control. Both controls are located
on the rear of the unit.

SPECIAL NOTE: Since the TV set is continuous tuning, you may tune in some
rather strange sounds; this is normal and is actually a
minor feature of this type of tuning. You may be able to
identify some of these unusual signals.

POSSIBLE TV RECEPTION PROBLEMS

1. If the image is weak (with "snow") the signal reception may be weak.
This can be caused by your location - buildings made with a large
amount of steel can cause reception problems. Try changing the
position and length of the antenna. If this does not help, use an
outdoor antenna, especially if you are located far from the TV
    station.

2. "Snow" along with "tear" or "roll" can often be due to improper
tuning. This can also be due to a very weak signal.

3. If the image does not fill the screen at the sides, this means your
power source is low. Check and replace batteries.

RADIO OPERATION

Select the desired power source and antenna as previously described.

1. Set the FUNCTION Switch to FM or AM as desired.

2. Tune slowly to the desired station with the Radio Tuning Control.

3. Adjust the VOLUME Control to desired level.

POSSIBLE RADIO RECEPTION PROBLEMS

1. If FM reception is weak, this is generally caused by problems
similar to those described in "Possible TV Reception Problems".
Use an outdoor antenna for very weak stations.

2. If AM reception is weak, this may be due to distance of the station
or operation of the unit in a building with steel construction. Turn
the unit in different directions to find the best position for the
    built-in ferrite rod antenna.

EARPHONE

Insert earphone plug earphone jack for private listening. The
internal speaker of the unit will be automatically disconnected.
