Programming The Tuner's Memory
Programming the tuner's memory makes channel scanning quicker and more
efficient by letting you use the CHANNEL /\ \/ buttons to scan only the
active channels in your area. You must use the remote control to program
the tuner's memory.
1. Press POWER to turn on the TV.
2. Press AUTO PROGRAM on the remote control. 1AIR 2STD 3HCR 4ICR appears
on the screen for about 4 seconds.
3. Press 1 for regular broadcast channels (AIR). Press 2, 3 or 4 for cable
channels (STD, HRC or IRC).
NOTE: Contact your local cable company to find out the type of cable broad-
casting they use - standard (STD), harmonically related carrier (HRC)
or incremental related carrier (IRC). If this is not possible, try
each option and select the one that stores the most channels and
provides the best picture.
The TV scans all channels and stores all the active channels in your area
for the selected band. When programming is complete, the TV returns to the
lowest channel number stored.
Cable Channel Designations
Your TV's tuner can tune up to 125 different cable TV channels. The TV's
screen displays these channels as 1 - 125. Channels 2 - 13 are usually
labeled by the cable company as they appear on the display. However, cable
companies often use letters or letter/number combinations to label cable
channels. Contact your local cable company for information about how they
label cable channels.
