VHS Hi Fi VCR/4hd Mod 46
(160-0616) Operation Faxback Doc. # 38182
PLAYING A PRE-RECORDED TAPE
Follow these steps to play a pre-recorded tape.
1. Plug in and turn on the TV.
2. Set the TV tuner to the same channel as the VCR's OUTPUT CHANNEL
switch - either 3 or 4.
See "Connections," Faxback Doc. # 38181.
If you use a TV monitor that is connected to the VCR's VIDEO/AUDIO OUT
jacks, set the monitor to the video mode.
3. Insert a pre-recorded VHS cassette into the cassette compartment.
If the VCR is off, it automatically turns on when you insert the
cassette. If the erase-protection tab has been removed from the
video cassette, playback begins automatically.
4. If playback does not begin automatically, press [PLAY].
5. If the tape is recorded in stereo Hi-Fi, select the audio output
mode by pressing [OUTPUT SELECT] on the remote control.
Press [STOP] to stop tape playback. Then, press [EJECT] to eject the
cassette.
If the tape reaches the end before you press [STOP], the VCR automatically
stops the tape and completely rewinds it. If the cassette's erase-
protection tab has been removed, the VCR ejects the cassette after the
tape fully rewinds.
NORMAL TV VIEWING
Follow these steps for normal TV viewing.
1. Turn on the TV.
2. Turn off the VCR, or press [TV/VCR] on the remote control so that
VCR does not appear on the VCR's display. The antenna or cable
signals pass through the VCR unaffected, as if the antenna or cable
were connected directly to the TV.
3. Select the desired channel, using the TV's tuner.
