Install the batteries as shown below. If the remote control does not work
or operates erratically, replace both batteries.
1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Place two AAA batteries in the compartment, observing the polarity
(+ and -) marked in the compartment.
3. Replace the compartment cover.
SETTING THE CLOCK
You must use the remote control to set the clock.
You must set the clock accurately to assure proper automatic-timer and
quick-timer recording. We suggest that you use a TV or radio station as
your time source. In the Following example, the clock is set to 2:15 p.m.
on Tuesday.
1. Plug the VCR power cord into a standard AC outlet.
The display flashes 0:00.
2. Press [POWER] to turn on the VCR.
3. If you want to use the on-screen display, turn on the TV and set it to
the same channel as CHANNEL switch on the back of the VCR.
Then, press [TV/VCR] on the remote control so that VCR appears on the
display.
If you're using a TV monitor, be sure to set it to the video mode.
4. Press [PROGRAM].
a. If you are setting the clock for the first time after plugging in
the VCR, the clock setting mode automatically appears on the
flashes on the VCR display.
b. If you are not setting the clock for the first time after plugging
in the VCR, press [PROGRAM] repeatedly until CLOCK flashes on the
TV screen and/or C flashes on the VCR display. Then, press
[ENTER] to enter the clock setting mode.
5. Press SELECT [UP] or [DOWN] until the correct day is indicated
(TUE and/or TU, for example).
6. Press [ENTER]. The hour digits flash. Press [UP] or [DOWN] until the
correct hour is displayed (PM 2:00, for example). The Model 45 uses a
12-hour a.m/p.m. clock. Be sure that AM or PM is correctly displayed.
7. Press [ENTER]. The minute digits flash. Press [UP] or [DOWN] until
the correct minute is displayed (PM 2:15, for example).
8. Review the entered information.
If it is correct, press [ENTER]. The clocksetting display disappears
from the TV screen and/or the VCR display changes to the regular clock
mode.
If the information is not correct, press [ENTER], [PROGRAM] and return
to Step 4b.
Even though seconds are not displayed, they begin counting at 00 when you
press [ENTER] after setting the minute.
If the display shows an abnormal reading or no reading, unplug the power
cord for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in.
