Your Realistic Model 45 VHS Stereo Hi-Fi VCR is a new breed of VCR that
contains three of most advanced features available in home video
recorders:
Hi-Fi Stereo Sound
Multi-Channel Television Sound (MTS) with SAP
HQ Circuitry (for improved recording and playback of video tapes)
The PLL tuner, full-function remote control, on-screen display, and other
special features listed below assure convenience and ease of operation.
Please read this owner's manual carefully. It has been prepared to assist
you with initial setup procedures and to guide you in everyday operation
of the Model 45 VCR.
Hi-Fi Stereo Sound - delivers audio quality
comparable to digital discs.
HQ Circuitry - improves picture sharpness
compared with similar
non-HQ VCRs.
Multi-Channel Television Sound (MTS) - decodes stereo broadcasts for
recording or listening. The
Model 45 can also receive and
record the special audio
programs (SAP) that accompany
some MTS broadcasts.
Fast-Response System - increase speed of operation by
loading the tape into the
mechanism as soon as you insert
the cassette.
122-channel, Digital-PLL, - lets you select any VHF or
Cable-Compatible Tuner UHF channel (2-83) and up to
52 cable channels.
Note:
The tuner does not unscramble premium cable channels.
21-day, 6 event, Digital Timer - lets you program the VCR to make
up to six unattended recordings
during a 21-day period.
Weekday-only and weekly
recordings are also possible.
On-Screen Programming - provides helpful instructions on
the TV screen for setting the
clock and the automatic timer
programs.
Quick Timer Recording - lets you start a recording
immediately or within the next
24 hours, and stops recording
automatically after the length
of time you select (30 minutes
to four hours or to the tape
end).

record/playback time since the
beginning of the tape, instead
of a relative counter number.
This lets you now exactly how
much time is left on a tape.

stores in memory all the active
channels in your area.

ACCESSORIES
Your Model 45 VCR is packaged with the remote control and the connection
accessory (shown below). Be sure to remove these items before storing the
packing material.
The 75-ohm cable with VHF/UHF band splitter is used to connect the
VCR's VHF/UHF OUTPUT terminal to the TV's antenna terminals.
CONTROL LOCATIONS
The VCR's controls are located along the bottom edge of the front panel
(some are inside a control compartment).
Some controls appear only on the front panel or in the control
compartment, and some appear only on the remote control. However, most
controls appear in both locations. If a control appears both places, this
manual does not make special note of its location. If a control appears
in only one location, the manual specifies that location.
