DEW PROTECTION SYSTEM

Moisture condensation inside the VCR can cause tape jams or video head
damage. The dew protection system helps avoid such damage by preventing
VCR operation when it senses excess moisture.

Activation of the dew protection system is indicated by a flashing stop
indicator (STOP). You can resume normal operation only after the moisture
is gone and the indicator stops flashing.

Cabinet Cleaning

Wipe the front panel and other exterior surfaces of the VCR with a clean,
soft, dry cloth. Stains should be removed with a soft cloth dampened in
lukewarm water.

Never use a solvent or alcohol. Do not spray insecticide liquid near the
VCR. Such chemicals may cause damage and discoloration to the exposed
surfaces.

Head Cleaning

Picture playback can become blurred even though the recorded signal is
clear. Dirt accumulated on the head after long periods of use causes this
problem. Serious problems require cleaning by a trained technician. For
more head cleaning information, consult the nearest Radio Shack store.

Clean heads only when problems occur.

Servicing

Should your VCR become inoperable, do not try to solve the problem
yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Switch the power
off, unplug the power cord, and take the unit to Radio Shack for
assistance.

Replacing Speaker Fuse

If no sound is emitted from the speaker, pull out the AC plug and replace
the fuse at the left of the rear panel with an identical fuse (2.5 amp,
125 volt).

    CAUTION:

Never use a fuse that has a higher rating.

Replacement Method

1. Turn the knob to the left then pull it out.

2. After replacing the fuse, push the knob in again and turn it to the
    right.
