Unless otherwise noted, you can use these features only in the VCR mode
(when the power switch is set to VCR).
VISUAL SEARCH
Visual search lets you view a tape at a fast speed in the forward or
reverse direction.
To use this function, begin regular playback of a tape. Then, press
FAST-F to search forward or REWIND to search backward. The tape moves
approximately three times normal speed in the direction you choose.
Press PLAY to return to normal speed playback.
During visual search, the sound is muted and the picture quality is lower
during normal playback.
FAST-FORWARD & REWIND
When the camcorder is in the stop mode, press FAST-F to move the tape
rapidly forward. Press REWIND to move the tape rapidly backward.
There is not sound or picture during fast-forward or rewind. Use
the digital counter to locate specific sections of the recording.
FREEZE-FRAME
Freeze-frame lets you stop the action while playing a tape. Press PAUSE/
STILL during playback to freeze the picture. Press PAUSE/STILL again to
return to normal playback. During freeze-frame, the picture quality is
lower than normal viewing.
If you leave the camcorder in the freeze-frame mode for five minutes,
if automatically switches to the stop mode.
TRACKING ADJUSTMENT
The tracking control lets you adjust the camcorder for optimum playback
of tapes made in other machines. Press either TRACKING button until you
see the sharpest, clearest picture. After playback, press both TRACKING
buttons to reset the tracking to the normal position. The tracking
automatically returns to the normal position when you begin recording
or when you eject a tape.
DUBBING FROM THE CAMCORDER
To copy a tape from the camcorder to another VCR, do the following:
1. Set A/V to OUT.
2. Connect the audio/video cable's yellow phono plug to the camcorder's
VIDEO jack and white plug to the AUDIO jack.
3. Connect the other end of the audio/video cable to the VCR's output
jacks - the yellow plug to video and the white plug to audio.
4. Push the power switch to VCR so that the power indicator lights.
5. Insert a cassette into the camcorder.
6. Press RECORD.
7. Begin playback on the VCR or other component.
8. Press STOP to stop recording.
The focus, fade, self timer, backlight/gain up, white balance, and shutter
speed features have no effect on this type of recording. You can however,
use the clock/calendar feature.
