Status Display

The VCR's status display automatically appears on the TV screen whenever
you turn on the VCR or change the VCR's status (stop-to-play, play-to-stop,
etc.). The display turns off in about eight seconds.

Press DISPLAY once to display the VCR's current status, the channel number,
the real-time counter, etc.

Press DISPLAY again (while the on-screen displays still appear on the TV
screen) to display only the real-time counter on the TV screen and on the
VCRs display. The real-time counter remains on the TV screen.

Press DISPLAY again to remove all displays from the TV screen and the time
counter from the VCR's display.

When you have removed all displays, the VCR's status display does not
appear automatically even when you change the VCR's status.

Freeze-Frame

Freeze-frame lets you stop the action and view a single frame. Press
PAUSE/STILL during playback to freeze the picture. Press PAUSE/STILL again
or press PLAY to return to normal playback.

During freeze-frame, the picture is lower quality than during normal
playback. Results are best with tapes recorded at the LP speed.

NOTE: If you leave the VCR in the freeze frame mode.

Frame Advance

Frame advance lets you view one stop-action frame after another. Press
PAUSE/STILL to begin stop-action viewing. Then press F.ADV each time you
want to view the next frame of the scene. Press PAUSE/STILL or PLAY to
resume playback at normal speed.

Slow-Motion

Press SLOW on the remote control to reduce the playback speed. You can
use SLOW during playback, visual search, or freeze-frame. Press PLAY to
return to normal playback.

The VCR mutes the sound during slow-motion.

NOTE: If you leave the VCR in the slow-motion mode for more than 1 1/2
minutes, the VCR automatically switches back to playback mode.
