PROGRAMMING CHANNELS INTO MEMORY
You can program the tuner's memory so when you press CHANNEL \/ or /\, the
VCR's tuner scans only the active channels in your area. Use the remote
control to program the tuner's memory.
1. Turn on the VCR and the TV.
2. Select the tuner band you want to program.
3. Press A.PROG.
The VCR scans all the channels in your area and stores active channel
numbers into memory. Then the VCR stops on the lowest memorized
channel.
4. Press CHANNEL \/ or /\ to check the memory's contents. The memorized
channel numbers appear on the VCR's display window.
ADDING OR DELETING A CHANNEL
If the tuner stores a channel that you do not want, tune to that channel
and press ERASE. The channel is now removed from memory.
If you want to program a weak channel that automatic programming missed,
enter that channel number using the remote control's number buttons. Then
press ADD. The channel is now added to memory.
BASIC OPERATION
SELECTING THE TV/VCR INPUTS AND OUTPUTS
When VCR appears on the display, the VCR signal is sent to the TV though
the OUT TO TV terminal.
When VCR is not on the display, antenna or cable signals (connected to the
IN FROM ANT terminal) pass through to the TV through the OUT TO TV terminal
unaffected. You can use the TV tuner to select channels as if the VCR was
not there.
If the VCR is turned on, the VCR signal is sent to the AUDIO/VIDEO OUT
jacks, regardless of the TV/VCR setting.
Audio Output Selection
To hear stereo sound from the VCR, you must connect a cable from the VCR's
AUDIO OUT L and R jacks to a stereo TV or stereo amplifier/receiver.
Press OUTPUT to select the audio source you want the VCR to play back.
Each time you press OUTPUT, the sound you hear changes from stereo to left
audio channel only to right audio channel only and then back to stereo.
The on-screen status display shows the audio output selected when you press
OUTPUT. If the audio was recorded with AUDIO LINE-IN set to STEREO, STEREO
(both channels), L (left channel) or R (right channel appears on the
screen. If the audio was recorded with AUDIO LINE-IN set to DUAL, the
display changes from MAIN (left channel only) to SUB (right channel only)
to MIX (both channels).
NOTES: The OUTPUT button is especially useful when you record the main
signal on the left channel and a different SAP signal on the right
channel.
If you play a tape that was not recorded in stereo, your VCR
plays it in monaural audio, regardless of the OUTPUT setting.
The audio output setting has no effect on recording. The VCR
records whatever type of audio signal it receives.
