If you have followed the instructions contained in the manual and have
difficulty operating your VCR, locate the SYMPTOM in the left column below.
Check the corresponding POSSIBLE CAUSE column to locate and correct the
problem.

SYMPTOM                               POSSIBLE CAUSE

No power.                             Power cord is not connected.

                                      Power button is not set to ON.

                                      TIMER REC is set to ON.

Timer recording is not possible.      The program timer is set
                                      incorrectly.

                                      The TIMER REC is not set to ON.

Record mode cannot be engaged.        The erase-protection tab on
                                      cassette is missing.

                                      Place plastic tape over missing
                                      tab's hole.

No picture or poor picture            The TV channel selector is not
