Use the remote control to set the clock.  Set the clock accurately for
proper Automatic-Timer and One-Touch recording.

Note:  The following instructions refer to the TV's on-screen display
       indicators.  Some of the indicators on the VCR's display vary
       slightly.

Turn on the system; then, follow these steps to set the time and date.

1.  Press PROG on the remote control.  The program menu appears.

2.  Press 1 on the remote control to select the clock setting mode.  The
    first hour digit flashes.

3.  Press the remote control's number buttons to set the correct hour and
    minute (for example, press [0][9][3][0] to set 9:30).

    Note:  Precede a single-digit entry with [0].  If you press a wrong
           button, press [CLEAR] and then press the correct button.

4.  Press 1 to select AM or 2 to select PM.  Your VCR uses only the
    standard AM/PM format.

5.  Press the number buttons to set the correct date.  (For example, press
    [0][3][0][4][9][3] to set March 4, 1993.)  The day of the week is
    automatically set.

6.  Check the information.

    If the information is correct, press [PROG] to store it.  The program
    menu reappears on the TV screen and the VCR's display shows the clock.

    If the information is not correct, press [CLEAR] as necessary to erase
    the wrong information.  The enter the correct information and press
    [PROG] to store it.  The program menu reappears on the TV screen, and
    the VCR's display shows the clock.

    Note:  If you press [CLEAR] once, you erase the digit at the cursor
           location.  If you press [CLEAR] again, the cursor returns to
           the previously set digit.

7.  Press [PROG] to clear the menu from the screen.

    Notes:  If you enter an invalid date or time (13:00, for example0, ?
            flashes on the screen.  Enter the correct date or time.

            If you do not enter anything for over 50 seconds, the display
            returns to the normal display.

            If the display shows an abnormal reading or no reading, unplug
            the power cord for about 3 seconds.  Then plug it back in.
