Model 800 (160-0654) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 3601

INSTALLING THE REMOTE CONTROL'S BATTERY

The remote control requires two AA batteries (not included) for operation.
We recommend alkaline batteries such as Radio Shack's Cat. No. 23-552.

Install the batteries as shown below:

1. Remove the battery compartment cover by pressing the cover in the
    direction of the arrow.

2. Place two fresh AA batteries in the compartment, observing the
polarity symbols (+ and -) marked in the compartment.

3. Replace the compartment cover.

NOTE: If the remote control does not work or operates erratically,
       replace both batteries.

CAUTION: Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type.
Always remove old or weak batteries. They can leak chemicals
          that can damage electronic circuits.

USING THE REMOTE CONTROL

Most of the remote control's buttons are duplicated on the VCR's front
panel. You can use these buttons to perform identical procedures either
at the VCR or by remote control. The following special-function buttons
appear only on the remote control.

Number Buttons - allow direct selection of any channel within the
tuner's range. You can also use these buttons to
set the clock or enter timer information.

OUTPUT SELECT Button - press to select the sound you hear during recording
                       and playback.

To use the remote control, point it at the VCR and press the desired
button(s).

Memory Sentinel

Your VCR has a special memory sentinel feature that protects clock
settings, tuner programming information, and timer memory settings by
providing up to 1 hour backup power in case a power failure occurs or the
power cord accidentally becomes unplugged. After about 1 hour of no
power, the VCR loses all memory settings.
