The Optimus Model 130 MovieCorder camcorder combines all the features of a
video camera and a portable VCR in one lightweight package. Using standard
VHS cassettes, you can record and play back home movies anywhere. The
low-light (1 lux) CCD imager makes special lighting unnecessary in most
situations.
You can also use the camcorder as a VCR to play back a tape or copy to a
VCR.
This camcorder has many special features that make operation simple,
convenient, and versatile. Be sure to read this manual carefully and
completely so you can understand and enjoy all of your camcorder's features.
The camcorder has these features:
CCD Imager - Provides a clear, high-resolution picture,
even in low-light conditions (down to 1 lux).
Electronic Viewfinder with - Lets you monitor the picture during recording
Adjustable Focus and playback.
12-to-1 Power Zoom - Lets you go smoothly from wide-angle to
telephoto shots. You control the zoom rate by
the amount of pressure you place on the
buttons.
Digital Zoom Enhancement - Increases the magnification of the power zoom
up to 2 times (to 24-to-1).
Fuzzy Logic Circuitry - Enables the camcorder to focus and adjust to
different lighting conditions, much like the
human eye.
Automatic Focusing - Provides automatic, full-range focusing from
3/8 inch to infinity for a sharp, clear
picture in almost all situations. You can
also focus the camcorder on close objects for
stunning detail.
Zoom Automatic Focusing - Automatically zooms out to adjust the focus if
you zoom in on an object and the object is out
of focus.
Three Fade In/Fade Out - Provide professional-quality scene
Options transitions.
Automatic Iris Control - Constantly adjusts for almost any lighting
situation.
Automatic White-Balance - Ensures natural color reproduction in either
Control natural or artificial light.
Automatic Exposure - Automatically adjusts the shutter's speed from
1/60 to 1/4000, depending on the lighting
conditions.
Two Sound Sources - Let you record sound tracks using the built-in
microphone, or by connecting a separate audio
source to the camcorder.
Index Recording - Automatically records index marks at the
beginning of new recordings. These marks are
used by VCRs that have an index search feature
to find the start of each recording.
Flying Erase Head - Provides exceptionally clean edits between
recorded segments.
Audio Editing - Lets you change the sound track of a tape
without changing the picture. You can use
either sounds from the built-in microphone or
an audio device connected to the camcorder.
Audio/Video Editing - Lets you change the sound and pictures of a
tape. You can use either sounds from the
built-in microphone or an audio device
connected to the camcorder, and video from the
camcorder's lens or a video source connected
to the camcorder.
HQ (High Quality) - Improves picture sharpness compared with non-
Circuitry HQ camcorders.
Review - Automatically replays the most recent few
seconds of a recording.
Camera Search - Lets you review recorded portions on a tape
and resume recording at the desired point on
the tape for smooth scene transitions.
Digital Tape Counter with - Helps you mark and return to locations on the
Memory tape.
Clock/Calendar Graphics - Lets you record the current time and date of a
Generator recording in the bottom of the picture.
Titler - Lets you create and record titles with your
videos.
Audio/Video Input & Output - Let you play back tapes on TVs, and copy tapes
Jacks to or from the camcorder.
Forward/Reverse Video - Let you quickly scan your recordings and
Search & Freeze Frame examine individual frames in detail.
Manual Tracking - Lets you adjust the tracking to reduce picture
noise when playing back tapes recorded on
other camcorders or VCRs.
Three-Way Power Supply - Lets you power the camcorder from the supplied
battery pack, the supplied AC adapter/charger
and auxiliary power cord, or an optional DC
adapter.
Record/Pause Trigger - Lets you conveniently stop and start camera
recording.
