Model 103 2-Head VHS VCR
(160-0538) Controlling VCR Inputs and Outputs Faxback Doc. # 19546

This section describes how to control the signals you record., watch, and
hear using the VCR's OUTPUT CHANNEL switch, the remote control's TV/VCR
and INPUT buttons, and the SET UP menu.

SETTING THE OUTPUT CHANNEL SWITCH

Set the VCR's OUTPUT CHANNEL switch (on the back of the VCR) to 3 or 4,
whichever is not an active channel in your area.

When VCR appears on the display, the VCR sends the selected video source
from its VHF/UHF/CATV OUT terminal to the TV on the channel you selected.

The OUTPUT CHANNEL switch has no effect on the TV when the VCR is off, when
VCR does not appear on the display, or if you are using a TV which has
separate audio/video input jacks and which is set to the video mode.

USING THE TV/VCR BUTTON

The Model 103's 179-channel (68 VHF/UHF channels, 111 cable channels)
tuner is active anytime you turn it on.

Press the TV/VCR button on the remote control so VCR appears on the
display, and you can then use the VCR's tuner to select the channel you
view.

To select a channel with the TV's tuner, press TV/VCR so VCR does not show.
If you are using a TV/monitor connected to the VCR's AUDIO/VIDEO OUT jacks,
set it to the TV mode.

NOTE: Whenever the VCR is on, the signals from the VCR are sent to the
AUDIO/VIDEO OUT jacks, regardless of the TV/VCR setting.

SELECTING THE INPUT MODE

To choose a signal to record, press INPUT on the remote control until the
desired indicator appears on the display window; a channel number for
recording VHF/UHF signals, AV for recording signals from the rear
AUDIO/VIDEO IN jacks.

NOTE: INPUT has no effect during tape playback or when the VCR is turned
       off.
