The Memorex Model 103 Moviecorder camcorder combines a video camera with
a portable VCR.  Using standard VHS cassettes, you can record and play back
home movies almost anywhere. 

The camcorder's 1/3-inch, 270,000-pixel CCD imagery provides a clear,
high-resolution picture, even in low-light conditions (down to 2 lux.).

The 8-to-1 power zoom lens lets you go smoothly from wide-angle to
telephoto shots at the push of a button.  You can use most standard
photographic 46-mm filters.

With the character generator, you can create and record personalized titles
on your videos.

The camcorder has many additional features that make operation simple,
convenient, and versatile.  Be sure you read this manual carefully and
completely so that you can understand and enjoy all the features the 
camcorder offers.

CAMERA FEATURES

2/3-Inch Electronic Viewfinder - lets you monitor the picture during
with Variable Focus              recording and view playback of a

             Flying Erase Head - provides exceptionally clean edits between
                                 recorded segments.

                  HQ Circuitry - improves picture sharpness.

           Infrared Auto Focus - constantly adjusts for optimum picture

                     Auto Iris - automatically adjusts for almost any

                                 situations.

            Auto White Balance - ensures natural color reproduction in
                                 indoor or outdoor lighting conditions.

           Built-in Microphone - provides synchronized soundtracks for the
                                 video recordings.

      External Microphone Jack - lets you use specialized microphones.

                   Macro Focus - lets you record close-up shots from as 
                                 close as 3/8 inch away.

        Variable Shutter Speed - reduces blurring during freeze-frame or 
                                 high-speed action.

         Standard Tripod Mount - lets you mount the camcorder on a standard
                                 tripod for smoother camera movement and
                                 use with the self-timer.

SPECIAL RECORDING FEATURES

              Fade In/Fade out - provides professional-quality scene
                                 transition.

          Time-Lapse Recording - lets you program the camcorder to make a
                                 series of 1-second recordings that occur 
                                 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, or 5
                                 minutes apart.  When played back, this has
                                 the effect of compressing time.

   Negative/Positive Inversion - lets you record a negative image for
                                 special effects.

                        Review - automatically replays the most recent few
                                 seconds of a recording.

     Digital Time Counter with - lets you mark and return to a specific
     Memory                      location on the tape.

Clock/ Calendar Code Generator - lets you record the current time and date
                                 (or date only) in the corner of the 
                                 picture.

                    Self-Timer - gives you time to get into the picture
                                 before recording begins.

                   Edit Search - lets you position the tape while the
                                 camcorder is set to record.

               Index Recording - lets you mark specific locations on the
                                 tape, which you can easily return to
                                 during playback.  The camcorder
                                 automatically records index marks at the
                                 beginning of new recordings.

SPECIAL PLAYBACK FEATURES

               Index Playback - automatically searches for index marks on 
                                the tape.

Forward/Reverse Visual Search - lets you easily scan the recordings.

                 Freeze-Frame - lets you stop a recording so that you can
                                examine a frame in detail.

             Tracking Control - lets you adjust the camcorder for optimum
                                playback of tapes made on other machines.

SPECIAL EDITING FEATURES

Microphone Mixing - lets you add music or your own commentary to the
                    recording's audio while you copy it to another VCR.

       Audio Edit - lets you change the soundtrack of a tape without
                    changing the picture.

       Video Edit - lets you change the pictures on a tape without changing
                    the sound.

OTHER FEATURES

Three-Way Power supply - lets you power the camcorder with the battery, the
                         AC adapter/charger, or an optional DC adapter.

         Earphone Jack - lets you monitor sound during recording or 
                         playback using an optional earphone or headset.

        Dew Protection - helps you avoid problems by preventing operation
                         when it senses excess moisture.

      Automatic Rewind - automatically rewinds the tape after it reaches
                         the end during playback or forward visual search.

Note to CATV system installer:

This reminder is provided to call the CATV system installer's attention to
Article 820-22 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding
and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground shall be connected to
the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry
as practical.
