(160-0852) Power Sources Faxback Doc. # 18464

You can power your camcorder from:

    The supplied battery pack

AC power using the supplied AC adapter and power cable.

USING AC POWER

Use the supplied AC adapter/charger and its extension to power the
camcorder directly from an AC outlet.

1. Align the AC adapter extension's alignment mark with the camcorder's
    battery alignment mark.

2. Gently press the adapter extension's flat plate against the camcorder,
and slide the plate to the right until it clicks into place.

3. Plug the adapter extension's cord into the adapter/charger's DC OUT
    jack.

4. Plug the adapter/charger's power cord into a standard AC outlet. The
    adapter/charger's green indicator lights.

When you finish using the camcorder be sure to:

1. Turn off the camcorder.

2. Unplug the adapter/charger from the AC outlet.

3. Unplug the adapter extension from the adapter/charger.

4. Slide down and hold [BATT], slide the adapter extension's flat plate
to the left, and remove the flat plate from the camcorder.

NOTE: You can use the AC adapter/charger in foreign countries as long
as the AC line voltage is between 100 and 240 volts. A built-in
circuit automatically adjusts for different line voltages. Use
the AC plug adapter when necessary.

Do not use the supplied AC-151 adapter/charger and adapter extension to
power any device except this camcorder.

USING THE BATTERY PACK

The battery pack comes fully discharged, so you must charge it before you
use it. Use only the supplied AC adapter/charger to charge the battery
pack. Use of any other adapter/charger could damage the battery pack.
Also, do not use the AC-151 adapter/charger to charge any battery except
the one supplied (6V, 1000mAh).

1. Plug the AC adapter/charger's power cord into an AC outlet. The green
    indicator lights.

2. Align the battery pack's alignment mark with the adapter/charger's
    alignment mark.

3. Gently press the battery pack against the adapter/charger, and slide
the battery pack to the right until it clicks into place. The adapter/
charger's red charge indicator lights and charging begins. When the
battery pack is fully charged, the charge indicator changes to yellow.

NOTE: It takes about an hour to charge the supplied standard battery
           pack.

4. When the battery pack is fully charged, disconnect the adapter/charger
    from the AC outlet.

5. Remove the battery pack from the adapter by sliding the battery pack
    to the left.

When the battery pack's power begins to run down, BATTERY flashes in
the camcorder's viewfinder. Charge the battery pack.

Charging Hints: You can order another standard battery pack (CS-6012)
from your local Radio Shack store so you can use one
                 while charging another.

Use the battery pack's charge indicator to remind yourself
if you have charged a battery pack or not. Set the
indicator so that the red dot shows when the battery pack
is discharged. Set it so the red dot does not show after
                 you charge the battery pack.

At normal temperatures, a fully charged battery pack provides enough power
to record for about 45 minutes. The recording time is shorter in cold
temperatures.

Do not use the supplied AC adapter/charger for any other purpose than
charging the battery pack or (with the adapter extension) to power the
camcorder from an AC outlet.

Do not continue to charge a fully charged battery pack. This can damage
the battery pack.

Although charging is possible from 41 to 95 degrees F, we suggest you
charge the battery pack in a temperature range of 50 to 86 degrees F for
best results.

You can use the supplied adapter/charger anywhere 100-240 volts AC is
available. If the shape for the AC outlet differs from the USA type, use
the supplied plug adapter.

Attaching the Battery Pack to the Camcorder

1. Align the battery pack's alignment mark with the camcorder's alignment
    mark.

2. Gently press the battery pack against the camcorder, and slide the
battery pack to the right until it clicks into place.

Removing the Battery Pack from the Camcorder

2. Slide down and hold [BATT], and slide the battery pack to the left.
