HQ VCR offers some of the most advanced features available in home video
cassette recorders. Your VCR's PLL (phrase-locked loop) tuning ensures
extremely accurate tuning of up to 68 VHF and UHF channels and up to 123
cable channels. Your VCR's full-function universal remote control and on-
screen programming make it easy to use. The Model 58's stereo Hi-Fi
feature delivers CD-quality stereo sound for audio/video or audio-only
recordings.

OTHER FEATURES
Multichannel Television Sound (MTS) - decodes stereo broadcasts for
(Model 58 only) listening or recording. Your Model
58 can also receive and record a
secondary audio program (SAP) that
accompanies some MTS broadcasts.
Trilingual On-Screen Programming - provides helpful instructions on the
TV screen for setting the clock,
program timers, and quick timer
recording. You can select English,
French, or Spanish instructions.
Universal Remote Control - lets you control your VCR as well
as many TVs and cable boxes
produced by other manufacturers.
Memory Sentinel - protects clock settings, tuner
programming information, and timer
memory settings for about 1 hour in
case a power failure occurs or the

ACCESSORIES
Your VCR includes the following accessories. Be sure to remove these
items before you store the packing material.
Remote Control - controls most of your VCR's functions.
75-ohm Coaxial Cable - connects the VCR's VHF/UHF CATV OUT terminal to
your TV's antenna terminals.
MOISTURE CONDENSATION
Condensation inside the VCR can cause tape jams or video head damage.
When you first install your VCR, or when you move it from a cold area to a
warm one, let it sit for about 2 hours before you plug it in and begin
operation. This allows complete evaporation of any moisture inside
the VCR that could damage it.
CAUTION: Do not use your VCR in areas of high humidity.
Recording Speeds
This unit has two recording speeds--SP and EP. While it will play in LP,
it will not record at LP speed.
