Pocketvision-25 Color TV
(160-0162) Operation Faxback Doc. # 17020
USING YOUR TV
Follow these steps to use the TV.
1. Extend the rod antenna.
2. Set the function selector to VHF or UHF. The TV automatically starts
scanning and stops at the next active channel in the selected band.
3. Press TUNING left or right arrow to tune to a different channel. The
tuning line on the screen aligns with the selected channel number below
the screen.
4. Adjust VOLUME for a comfortable listening level.
5. Adjust the antenna for the best reception.
6. Adjust BRIGHT for the desired brightness. The brightness also changes
with the screen's angle.
7. Adjust ADJUST for the best color.
NOTES: Press CH CALL to recall the tuning line on the display.
For private listening, connect an optional earphone with a 1/8-inch
plug to the PHONE jack. This mutes the built-in speaker.
If desired, fold out the stand on the back of the TV, and lean the
TV on a flat surface for a convenient viewing angle.
If reception is poor, try adjusting the rod antenna. For some
stations, adjusting the length of the antenna provides slightly
better reception. If you are inside a metal or concrete building,
moving closer to a window might improve reception. If you still
have problems, you probably need an external outdoor antenna.
BACKLIGHT
In low temperatures, the TV screen takes a few seconds to light, or it
might be slightly red in color. This is not a malfunction. Normal operation
resumes after a short while.
CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA
If you are in an area with weak TV signals, or inside a metal or concrete
building, you might need an external outdoor antenna to improve reception.
Connect the antenna to the EXT ANT jack.
If your antenna wire is 75-ohm coaxial cable, use an F-to -mini-plug
adapter to complete the connection. If you have 300-ohm wire, use a 300-
to-75 ohm mini-plug adapter. These items are available at your local Radio
Shack store.
CONNECTING TO A CHANNEL 3/4 OUTPUT
You can use the EXT ANT jack to connect a camcorder, VCR, video disk
player, or other audio/video component that has a Channel 3-4 output
terminal. Your local Radio Shack store sells the accessories you need for
this connection.
