Pocketvision-25 Color TV
(160-0162) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 17019

You can power the TV with internal batteries, AC power (with an optional
AC adapter), or your vehicle's battery (with optional DC adapter).

USING BATTERY POWER

You can use four AA batteries (not supplied) to power the TV. For best
results, we recommend that you use alkaline batteries (Radio Shack Cat.
No. 23-552).

1. Lift the stand, and slide off the battery compartment's cover in the
    direction of the arrow.

2. Insert four AA alkaline batteries, observing the polarity symbols (+
and -) marked inside the battery compartment.

CAUTION: Installing the batteries incorrectly can damage the TV.

3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

NOTE: The TV can operate for about 3 hours with alkaline batteries. When
the sound level becomes too low or the picture becomes unstable,
       replace the batteries.

USING STANDARD AC POWER

You can power the TV from a household AC outlet using a 6-volt, 700 mA AC
adapter (Cat. No. 273-1655.)

1. Turn off the TV.

2. Match TIP on the adapter's smaller black barrel plug to the NEG. (-)
side of the adapter cord's plug. Then, connect the two plugs.

3. Set the adapter's voltage switch to 6V.

4. Plug the adapter's barrel plug in the TV's DC IN 6V jack.

5. Plug the adapter's module into a standard AC outlet.

NOTES: Do not leave the adapter plugged into the AC outlet or connected to
the TV when you are not using the TV.

Always unplug the adapter from the AC outlet first.

Use only an AC adapter that matches the recommended specifications.
Other adapters might damage the TV.

The internal batteries automatically disconnect when you plug
the adapter into the DC IN 6V jack.

The adapter might become warm after extended periods of use. This
is normal and is no cause for alarm.

USING VEHICLE BATTERY POWER

You can use an optional DC adapter to power the TV from your vehicle's
cigarette-lighter socket if your vehicle has a 12-volt DC, negative-ground
electrical system. We recommend that you use a 6-volt, 500mA DC adapter,
such as Radio Shack's Hi-Power DC Adapter (Cat. No. 270-1562).

1. Turn off the TV.

2. Match TIP on the adapter's brown barrel plug to NEG. (-) side of the
adapter cord's plug. Then, connect the two plugs.

CAUTION: Always connect the adapter to the TV before you connect it to
the cigarette-lighter socket. Then, disconnect it from the
cigarette-lighter socket before you disconnect it from the
              TV.

3. Set the adapter's voltage switch to 6 volts.

4. Plug the adapter's barrel plug into the TV's DC IN 6V jack.

5. Plug the adapter's cigarette-lighter plug into your vehicle's cigarette
    lighter socket.

NOTES: If the TV does not operate properly when you use DC power, be sure
the cigarette-lighter socket is clean and that the adapter's plug
is pushed all the way into the socket.

Do not leave the adapter plugged into the cigarette-lighter socket
or connected to the TV when you are not using the TV.

Use only a DC adapter that matches the recommended specifications.
Other adapters might damage the TV.

The internal batteries automatically disconnect when you plug the
adapter the DC IN 6V jack.
