Pocketvision-26 TV (160-0163) Operation Faxback Doc. # 15920
USING THE TV
Follow these steps to use the TV.
1. Extend the rod antenna.
2. Set the function selector to VHF or UHF. The TV automatically starts
scanning. The tuning indicator moves to the next active channel in
the area and stops.
3. If this is not the station you want, press UP arrow or DOWN arrow
until the TV tunes to the desired channel.
4. Adjust VOLUME for a comfortable listening level.
5. Adjust the antenna for the best reception.
6. Adjust BRIGHT for the desired level of brightness or darkness. The
brightness of the screen also changes with the viewing angle.
7. Adjust TINT for the best color.
NOTES: For private listening, connect an optional earphone to the PHONE
jack. This temporarily disconnects the built-in speaker.
If desired, fold out the stand on the back of the TV, and lean the
TV on a flat surface for a convenient viewing angle.
If reception is poor, adjust the length or angle of the rod
antenna. If you are inside a metal or concrete building, moving
closer to a window might improve reception. If reception is still
poor, you probably need an external outdoor antenna. See
"Connecting an External Antenna."
When you turn on the TV in low temperatures, the TV screen takes
several seconds to illuminate. The screen also might appear a
reddish color. This is not a malfunction. The screen returns to
normal after a short while.
CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA
If TV signals are weak or if you use the TV inside a metal or concrete
building, you might need an external antenna to improve reception. The
local Radio Shack store sells a wide variety of external antennas. Connect
the antenna to the TV's EXT ANT jack.
If the antenna wire is 75-ohm coaxial cable, use an F-to-miniplug adapter
(not supplied) to complete the connection. If you have 300-ohm wire, use
a 300-to-75-ohm miniplug adapter (not supplied). Radio Shack stores sell
these items.
CONNECTING AN AUDIO/VIDEO COMPONENT
You can use the TV's EXT ANT jack to connect a camcorder, VCR, video disc
player, or other audio/video component that has a Channel 3-4 output jack.
The local Radio Shack store has the necessary accessories you need for
these connections.
You also can connect an audio/video component to the TV's AUDIO/VIDEO jack.
This connection requires a special cable (not supplied). The local Radio
Shack store can order this cable for you.
To use the cable, connect its yellow phono plug to the audio/video
component's video output jack and connect the white phono plug to the
component's audio output jack. Then, plug the cable's sub-mini plug into
the TV's AUDIO/VIDEO input jack.
NOTES: The TV cannot receive antenna or cable TV signals when the cable
is connected to the TV.
If you use standard audio patch cords to connect an audio/video
component to this TV, the audio and video signals will be
distorted.
