Pocketvision-26 TV (160-0163) Power Sources Faxback Doc. # 15919

CONNECTING POWER

You can power the TV with internal batteries, AC power (with an optional AC
adapter), or the vehicle's battery (with an optional DC adapter).

USING BATTERY POWER

You can use four AA batteries (not supplied) to power the TV. For Best
results, we recommend that you use alkaline batteries (Radio Shack Cat.
No. 23-552).

1. Lift the stand, and slide off the battery compartment's cover in the
    direction of the arrow.

2. Insert four AA alkaline batteries, observing the polarity symbols (+
and -) marked inside the battery compartment.

CAUTION: Installing the batteries incorrectly can damage the TV.

3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

NOTE: Battery life is more than 2 hours with alkaline batteries. When the
sound level becomes low or the picture becomes unstable, replace the
       batteries.

USING STANDARD AC POWER

You can power the TV from a standard AC outlet using an optional AC adapter
(Cat. No. 273-1655).

CAUTION: You must use an AC adapter that supplies 6 volts and delivers at
least 500 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to negative and
its plug must correctly fit the TV's DC IN 6V jack. Using an
adapter that does not meet these specifications could seriously
          damage the TV and adapter.

1. Turn off the TV.

2. Match TIP on the adapter's smaller black barrel plug to the NEG (-)
side of the adapter cord's plug. Then, connect the two plugs.

3. Set the adapter's voltage switch to 6V.

4. Plug the adapter's barrel plug in the TV's DC IN 6V jack.

5. Plug the adapter's module into a standard AC outlet.

NOTES: Do not leave the adapter plugged into the AC outlet or connected
to the TV when you are not using the TV.

Always unplug the adapter from the AC outlet first.

The internal batteries automatically disconnect when you plug the
adapter into the DC IN 6V jack.

The adapter might become warm after extended periods of use. This
        is normal.

USING VEHICLE BATTERY POWER

You can use an optional DC adapter (Cat. No. 270-1563B) to power the TV
from the vehicle's cigarette-lighter socket if the vehicle has a 12-volt
DC, negative-ground electrical system.

CAUTION: You must use a DC adapter that supplies 6 volts and delivers at
least 500 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to negative and
its plug must correctly fit the TV's DC IN 6V jack. Using an
adapter that does not meet these specifications could seriously
          damage the TV and adapter.

1. Turn off the TV.

2. Match TIP on the adapter's brown barrel plug to the NEG (-) side of
the adapter cord's plug. Then, connect the two plugs.

CAUTION: Always connect the adapter to the TV before you connect it to the
cigarette-lighter socket. Then, disconnect it from the lighter
socket before you disconnect it from the TV.

3. Set the adapter's voltage switch to 6V.

4. Plug the adapter's barrel plug into the TV's DC IN 6V jack.

5. Plug the adapter's cigarette-lighter plug into the vehicle's cigarette
    lighter socket.

NOTES: If the TV does not operate properly when you use DC power, be sure
the cigarette-lighter socket is clean and the adapter's plug is
pushed all the way into the socket.

Do not leave the adapter plugged into the cigarette-lighter socket
or connected to the TV when you are not using the TV.

The internal batteries automatically disconnect when you plug the
adapter into the DC IN 6V jack.
