 Hearing Aid Compatible Telephones

Question: Which telephones are hearing aid compatible?

Answer:
There are a few telephones that are hearing aid compatible. Hearing aids work with either Audio or EMI (Electro Magnet Inductor). Audio picks up movement of sound in the air (like an ear). The Hearing aid must be either EMI (T) or audio in order to work. Some hearing aids use a Tesla coil; these have a "T" switch on them. When you slide the switch to "T", it will pick up magnetic wave movement. All units that have a true speaker will work with any hearing aid. A piezo speaker will not work. You would need to contact either your local RadioShack store, or our Catalog Order Center at 800-843-7422, Option 2, (Catalog, Parts and Accessory Ordering) for up-to-date information on which of our telephones meets this requirements.
