 430-1200 TandyFax TFX-1000 Fax Machine
Question: How do I program this for international dialing?

Answer: The instructions for programming your TandyFax 1000 for normal international use are given below. However, if you attempt a fax to Holland, and still encounter problems, additional parameters may need to be changed. You would need to use the second set of instructions as well.

International Programming

  1. Press FUNCTION five times.
  2. Press DIAL/TEL four times.
  3. Press * one time.
  4. Press 1.
  5. Press START/ENTER.
  6. The display will be:
    TEST MODE
    NO=
  7. Enter the parameter number. It will switch to the adjustable portion for that parameter.
    Values to change:
    The first value to change is Transmission Attenuator.You would enter 020 as the parameter number.
  8. The display will switch to the adjustable portion. The display will be:
    020 [09] = 09
    with the cursor flashing under the zero.
    You would enter 06 as the parameter adjustment.
  9. Press STANDBY/STOP to save the information. Go on to the next parameter.
  10. The display will be:
    TEST MODE
    NO=
  11. Enter the parameter number. It will switch to the adjustable portion for that parameter.
    Values to change:
    The next value to change is Transmission EQL.You would enter 026 as the parameter number.
  12. The display will switch to the adjustable portion. The display will be:
    026 [00] = 00
    with the cursor flashing under the zero.
    You would enter 01 as the parameter adjustment.
  13. Press STANDBY/STOP to save the information.
  14. Press STANDBY/STOP to exit menu

Additional programming for Holland

  1. Press FUNCTION five times.
  2. Press DIAL/TEL four times.
  3. Press * one time.
  4. Press 1.
  5. Press START/ENTER.
  6. The display will be:
    TEST MODE
    NO=
  7. Enter the parameter number. It will switch to the adjustable portion for that parameter.
    Values to change:
    The next value to change is CED Frequency. You would enter 030 as the parameter number.
  8. The display will switch to the adjustable portion. The display will be:
    030 [00] = 00
    with the cursor flashing under the zero.
    You would enter 01 as the parameter adjustment.
  9. Press STANDBY/STOP to save the information.
  10. The display will be:
    TEST MODE
    NO=
  11. Enter the parameter number. It will switch to the adjustable portion for that parameter.
    Values to change:
    The next value to change is T1 Timer for G2 Transmission.
    You would enter 040 as the parameter number.
  12. The display will switch to the adjustable portion. The display will be:
    040 [00] = 00
    with the cursor flashing under the zero.
    You would enter 01 as the parameter adjustment.
  13. Press STANDBY/STOP to save the information.
  14. Press STANDBY/STOP to exit menu.
    As a note, if changing a value does not resolve the problem, you can go back and change the values to:
    Values to change:
    The value to change is Transmission Attenuator. You would enter 020 as the parameter number.
    The display will switch to the adjustable portion. You would enter 04 as the parameter adjustment.
