Answer: The message lo indicates that you need to replace or install a battery. The message a2 means that you need to record outgoing message A2, and the message 5 means that you have 5 messages.

Question: What is the Call Break-Through feature?

Answer: This feature allows a caller to bypass the answering machine by entering a specific code. If you want to screen your calls but be sure to answer calls from a certain person, give that person your call breakthrough (CBT) code. Tell them to enter the code after your outgoing message plays.

Question: Why is this flashing A0?

Answer: You need to set the Announcement Only outgoing message:

Recording the Announcement-Only Message (OGM-2)

You can also set the TAD to make an announcement only, without recording incoming messages. This is useful for announcing information about an upcoming event. Be sure the announcement clearly states that the caller cannot leave a message.

Press and hold down OGM-2 until the TAD beeps. A2 appears.
Speak in a normal voice about 8 inches away from the microphone.
When you finish recording, press STOP/TIME SET until the TAD beeps. The TAD automatically repeats the outgoing message so you can verify it. Adjust VOLUME MIN./MAX. on the right side of the TAD to the desired listening level.
To playback your announcement-only message at any time, press OGM-2, A2 appears. The TAD beeps, and the announcement-only message plays.

Setting 2/4/7/TS

The ring select 2/4/7/TS. on the back of the TAD controls how long the TAD waits before it answer a call.

2 --- The TAD answers after two rings.
4 --- The TAD answers after four rings.
7 --- The TAD answers after seven rings.
TS --- The TAD answers after two rings if there are messages, or after four rings if there are no messages.
