Question: How do I connect a 490-2501 or 490-2502 camera to this monitor?

Answer: Due to differences between the 490-2501 Surveillance System and the 490-2511 system, the 490-2502 camera cannot directly connect to the 490-2511 monitor. The 490-2501 monitor used a 5-pin DIN connector whereas the 490-2511 monitor used a 4-pin mini DIN connector. You will need to use the 980-1457 5-pin DIN (female) to 4-pin DIN (male) Adapter.

Question: How do I connect a 490-2512 or 490-2513 camera to this monitor?

Answer: The 490-2513 Camera output requires a 6-conductor cable. It comes with a 65-foot cable that has three RCA connectors on one end and connects directly to the camera. It is this 6-pin male mini-DIN that has the audio and control signals from a motion detector on various pins on the connector. The 490-2512 Camera comes with 65-foot cable that has three RCA connectors on one end that plugs directly into the camera.

The 490-2511 monitor has a 4-pin DIN input. You would need an Adapter (RSU 12216750), which has three RCA connectors on one end, and a 4-pin male DIN on the other for use with monitor 490-2511. The adapter is not store-stocked, nor is it currently available on-line. You would need to place an order either through your local store or through our Catalog Order Center at 800-843-7422, Option 2, (Catalog, Parts and Accessory Ordering).

Question: Will this monitor work with either the 490-2515 camera or the 490-2516 camera?

Answer: No, the 490-2511 monitor is NOT compatible with the 490-2515 camera or the 490-2516 camera.
