490-0722 Alarm System with Pager

Question: What are the wiring instructions for this system?

Answer: The short green wire located at the base of the control module is your system's antenna. Do not attach it to metal and do not cut it. Route and connect the wires as follows.

Yellow wire goes to the Engine Cooling Fan
Red wire goes to a Constant 12 Volt tap
Black wire goes to Ground
Pink wire goes to the Armed Output (Optional)
White wire goes to the positive (+) side of the Door Trigger
Gray wire goes to the Paging Transmitter
Brown Pair of wires go to the Starter Solenoid

Question: How do I wire a pin switch to this system?

Answer: One suggested method is to install a 1/2 watt 47k Ohm resistor between the white wire going to the pin switch and the red wire going to the 12 volts. Be sure the resistor leads and connections are insulated, then install the pin switch in the door frame. Before doing this, you should check with the manufacturer of the pin switch, as different switches can have different requirements.

Question: Why is this not disarming after it is violated?

Answer: The alarm may need to be reprogrammed. To do this, follow the steps below:

Make sure the hood, trunk, and all doors are firmly closed. The indicator lights steadily.
On one of the remote controls, press either button once. The system chirps once.
On the second remote control, press either button once. The system chirps twice and the indicator turns off.

The main control module is now programmed to respond to only these two remotes and the system is disarmed.
