PRO-96 (200-0526) Tutorial: How To Save To A V-Scanner Folder From The Working Memory

This tutorial will show you how to save your scanner's working memory into the scratchpad (#) V-Scanner folder. The Pro-96 contains ten V-Scanner (Virtual Scanner) folders "0-9" and one scratchpad folder "#". Folders 0-9 can be used to store scanner configurations and can be recalled for future use. The scratchpad folder number is a temporary folder, used to temporarily hold working memory contents while managing the V-Scanner memory. Any information in a V-Scanner folder will be lost when another configuration is saved to it. All settings are saved when the configuration is stored, this includes display contrast, lockout settings, channel, talkgroups, ID names etc.
The Pro-96 comes with pre-loaded frequencies and IDs for the top 100 trunking radio systems in the U.S.
For additional information on this product, see the links below:

Step 1: Enter the V-Scanner Menu

Press PGM, FUNC then PGM to enter the V-Scanner mode.

Step 2: Enter the Save Mode

Press the number 1 key to enter the SAVE mode.

Step 3: Select the V-Scanner Folder in which to Save

Press the number key of the V-Scanner folder to which you want to save the working memory configuration (a number 0-9 will display). In this case we are saving to the scratchpad folder. To save to the scratchpad folder, press the decimal point key (# will display). The name of the configuration in the folder will display. If nothing is in the folder **BLANK** will display. Press ENTER.

Note: Remember, the information, if any, that is in the V-Scanner folder to which you save will be permanently erased. The scratchpad folder is provided for the purpose of saving and moving scanner configurations around so that no information is lost. If you want to save your working memory to a V-Scanner folder that contains a configuration you want to keep, save that folder's information to the scratchpad folder first, then save the working memory.

Step 4: Confirm the V-Scanner Folder Selection

Press ENTER again to confirm the V-Scanner location.

Note: Again, remember that any information in the V-Scanner folder to which you are saving will be lost.

Step 5: Save to the V-Scanner Folder

The scanner will take a short while to save. The status is shown on the display. When the scanner has completed the save to the V-Scanner, a completion message will display. Press ENTER to return to the V-Scanner menu.
