 PRO-96 (200-0526) Tutorial: How to Search a Preprogrammed Frequency Range

This tutorial will show you how to use the scanner's search banks. There are six search banks SR0 - SR-5 that contain preprogrammed search ranges. A seventh search bank SR6 is user configurable and a specific range of frequencies can be searched programming the lower and higher end frequency.

Step 1: Select the Search Bank
 
 
Press SRCH until you find the search bank SR0 - SR5 that you want to listen to.
 
Step 2: Search Marine and CB Banks
 
 
In the Marine search bank SR0 and the CB search bank SR1 the frequency can be selected directly by entering the channel numbers or by using the up and down arrow keys.
 
Step 3: Select/Deselect Group Bank in SR3 and SR5
 
 
The Police/Fire search bank SR3 and the Ham search bank SR5 contain groups that can be turned on or off. To turn off a group, press the corresponding number key and press it again to turn the group back on. In this case group 0 in Police/Fire search bank SR3 was turned off.
 
Step 4: Search the Band
 
 
To scan the search banks press FUNC then SRCH. M will change to S. Press FUNC the SRCH to return to manual mode.
 

Program the User Configurable Search Bank SR6

Step 1: Enter the Program Mode
 
 
Press PGM then SRCH. PSR will display in the top left corner and the cursor will flash on the letter L.
 
Step 2: Enter and Set the Lower Frequency
 
 
Use the number and ./DELAY keys to enter the lower frequency. Press ENTER. The cursor will flash on the H.
 
Step 3: Enter and Set the Higher Frequency
 
 
Use the number and ./Delay keys to enter the higher frequency. Press ENTER.
 
Step 4: Adjust the Squelch and Start the Search
 
 
To start the search rotate the Squelch knob clockwise until the hissing noise stops. Press SRCH. When the scanner finds an active frequency the search will stop.
