PRO-96 (200-0526) Tutorial: How to Store Conventional Frequencies
This tutorial will show you how to store conventional frequencies in your Pro-96 scanner. In conventional scanning a frequency is used for each channel of communication. To hear transmissions, the frequency must be programmed and stored in the scanner.
For additional information on this product, see the links below:
Press the PGM button. In the top left hand corner of the display, M will change to P.
Step 2: Select the Bank and Channel
Enter the storage bank number that you want to use (0-9) and enter the channel number (00-49) in which you want to store the frequency. If you want to use channel 2 in bank 3, press 3 then 02. Press PGM and 302 will be displayed.
Note: The FUNC and arrow keys can be used to navigate to a bank and channel if you do not have a specific bank and channel in mind. Pressing FUNC and the up and down arrows will let you scroll up or down through the channels and storage banks.
Step 3: Enter the Frequency
Enter the frequency number that you want to store, using the ./DELAY button to enter the decimal point.
Note: Entered numbers are automatically rounded to the next valid frequency number.
Step 4: Store the Frequency
Press ENTER to store the frequency.
Notes:
If you enter a frequency number that has already been stored in the same bank, you will hear an error tone and Dupl.f will display. If you do not want to store the number press CLR and enter another frequency. If you do want to store it press ENTER.
If you enter an invalid frequency number Invalid Freq displays and the scanner will beep when you press ENTER. Enter the correct frequency.
Step 5: Change the Default Delay
There is a delay set by default that pauses the scanner by two seconds after a transmission is received. If you do not want the scanner to pause while scanning channels press ./DELAY until the D in the top row of the display disappears. To turn the delay back on, press ./DELAY until the D is visible.
