PRO-82 (200-0315) Tutorial: How to Reset and Initialize the Scanner

This tutorial will show you how to reset and or initialize your scanner if it does not work properly, after you have connected it to a power source.

First, you should try to reset your scanner, and if that does not work then you should try to initialize it. When you initialize your scanner, anything that you have stored in the memory will be erased.

Reset the Scanner

This is the first thing you should try as all information in your scanner's memory will be retained.
Step 1: Power the Scanner Off and On
 
 
Turn the VOLUME knob counterclockwise in order to turn the scanner off, then turn the knob clockwise to turn it back on.
 
Step 2: Find the Reset Button
 
 
Insert a straightened paper clip into the small hole that it located just above and to the right of the power jack. The power jack is on the side of the scanner.
 
Step 3: Press the Reset Button
 
         
 
Press the straightened paper clip gently against the RESET button. As you do this any information that is on the display will disappear. The scanner is now reset.
 

Initialize the Scanner

Remember, this procedure will erase any information that you have stored in the scanner's memory.

Step 1: Power the Scanner Off and On
 
 
Turn the VOLUME knob counterclockwise in order to turn the scanner off, then turn the knob clockwise to turn it back on.
 
Step 2: Initialize the Scanner, Part A
 
 
Press and hold down the TUNE/CLEAR key, while inserting a straightened paper clip into the small hole that it located just above and to the right of the power jack. The power jack is on the side of the scanner. Press the RESET button and as you do this, information on the display will disappear.
 
Step 3: Initialize the Scanner, Part B
 
         
 
Still holding down the TUNE/CLEAR key, stop pressing the reset button. When the display turns back on release the TUNE/CLEAR key.
