Sharing Digital Image Files |

How do I share my pictures over the Internet? One of the great benefits of using a digital camera or camcorder is that it becomes very easy to distribute and share your images using a computer and an Internet connection. If you are wanting to send the same images to a number of people, you can simply drop the images into a single e-mail and put all of the addresses into the To: box. If you want a lot of people to be able to see the images, but you don't want to send a large e-mail (very important when using a low-bandwidth Internet connection, such as dial-up), you can upload the images to the Internet (either your personal page or to one of the many free image sites) and just send out the link to the page. The final way to send out the images is to write them to a CD (this requires a CD drive capable of writing CD's) and send out the CD's. While this is a longer method and requires mailing, it has the advantage of providing the images in a format which does not have to be downloaded or stored. Which method you use will depend on the number and sizes of the images, your personal preferences and the preferences of the recipients. The only problem with these three methods is that they require that your recipients have at least a computer. For information on sharing your images with people who do not have a computer, see the next section. |
