Question: What is a plenum cable?

Answer:
 A plenum is an air-return area in a HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system. A "plenum cable" is a cable rated for use in a plenum area and will be labeled as such.

Please note, plenum is not a type of cable coating or insulation.

Question: What cables can I run through the wall, a dropped ceiling or a raised floor?

Answer:
 If you are running the cable through or behind walls, through a dropped ceiling or raised floor, you should use cables which are either labeled "in-wall" or "UL type CL2".

Answer:
 If you are needing to actually bury the cable, you should use cables that are rated as "buriable".
