 General Audio Solutions

 Problem: The power does not come on.

 Possible Cause

Suggested Solution
The power cord is disconnected or there is no power to the outlet. Check the cord and outlet.
The protection circuit is activated. Unplug the power cord and plug it back in.
There may be loose strands of wire touching the back of the receiver and triggering the protection circuit. Remove any excess wire from behind the receiver.

 Problem: The unit does not respond when any button is pressed.

There may be a system lockup caused by static discharge. Unplug the power cord and plug it back in.

The CD is loaded incorrectly. Remove the CD and reload it.
The CD is dirty. Remove the CD and clean it.
The CD is damaged. Replace the CD.

 Problem: ERROR 7 is on the display.

 Possible Cause

The CD is loaded incorrectly. Remove the CD and reload it.

The tape is dirty. Remove the tape and clean it.
The tape heads needs cleaning. Clean and demagnetize the tape heads.
The tape is damaged. Replace the tape.

 Problem: READ is on the CD player display, but the CD isn't playing.

 Possible Cause

Suggested Solution
The reading mechanism or laser-eye needs cleaning. Use a CD player cleaner.
The reading mechanism or laser-eye is out of alignment. Take the player to your local RadioShack store and have it sent to service.
