Question: I installed the software but it will not detect the recorder; why?

Answer:
Be sure that you are not running a software program that continuously checks the serial port. Particularly, be sure you are not running a computer-to-handheld synchronization program (such as HotSync® by PalmT). Synchronization programs will not allow other programs to access the serial port. You would need to stop running the other software from memory before using the DR-81.

Question: How do I convert the recorded data to text?

Answer:
The DR-81 software does not convert the recording to text; it only saves the recording as an audio file to the computer (in either .DSS or .WAV format). We do not carry software to convert audio to text at this time.
