Tutorial: How to Program the Recorder

This tutorial will show you how to:
  • Set the recording mode
    • SP Standard Play/up to 126 minutes 
    • EP Extended Play/up to 164 minutes 
    • LP Long Play/up to 234 minutes
  • Set the MIC (Microphone) sensitivity
    • Auto (Automatic) - the sensitivity of the microphone is automatically adjusted
    • Hi - suitable for recording when in conference
    • Lo - suitable for dictation

Step 1: Enter the Recorder Mode
 
 
Before any programming can be performed the recorder has to be in recorder mode. Press the PLAY button to enter the recorder mode.
 
Step 2: Enter the Set the Active File Mode
 
 
Press down the DISP/SET button until the word "FILE" displays. Either the A, B, C, or D folder icon will flash.
 
Step 3: Select the Folder
 
 
Press the VOL button to select the folder that you wish to use at this time for storing messages. In this case, folder A was selected. Press the DISP/SET button to store the setting and proceed to next programming function. 
 
Step 4: Set the Recording Mode
 
 
MODE should be on the display, and either SP, EP or LP should be flashing. Press the VOL button to select the desired tape speed. In this case SP was selected. Press the DISP/SET button to set it and proceed to next programming function. 
 
Step 5: Set the MIC mode
 

 
MIC should be on the display, and either Auto, Hi or Lo should be flashing. In this case, Auto was selected. Press the VOL button to reach the desired microphone setting. Press the DISP/SET button to save thissetting and proceed to the next programming function. 
 
Step 6: Set the Voice Activated Recording Mode
 
 
VOX should be on the display, and either ON or OFF should be flashing. Press the VOL button to select whether the voice activated recording is turned on or off. In this case, OFF was selected. Press the DISP/SET button to save this setting and proceed to next programming function.
 
Step 7: Set the Button Tone Mode
 
 
BEEP should be on the display, and either ON or OFF should be flashing. Press the VOL button to select ON or OFF, depending on whether or not you want to hear a tone when the buttons are pressed. In this case, OFF was selected. Press the DISP/SET button to save this setting. The programming of the recorder is complete.
