REPLACING THE BATTERY

The EC-344 uses one 3-volt, lithium battery, type CR2032.  When the
EC-344's display dims, or stops working properly, replace the battery.  We
recommend Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-162.

    Warning:  Have a fresh battery on hand before you begin battery
              replacement.  You must install the battery within 30 seconds
              after removing the old one or the information stored in the 
              EC-344's memory will be lost.  We recommend you keep a
              back-up record of all important stored information.

Your Radio Shack Rolodex EC-344 is an example of superior design and
craftsmanship.  The following suggestions will help you care for the
EC-344 so you can enjoy it for years.

    Keep the EC-344 dry.  If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
    Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode electronic circuits.

    Use and store the EC-344 only in normal temperature environments, and
    avoid sudden temperature changes.  Temperature extremes can shorten
    the life of electronic devices, damage the battery, and distort or
    melt plastic parts.  At very low temperatures the display's response
    time might slow down or the display might fail completely.  This is
    only temporary.  The EC-344 works normally again when it returns to
    normal temperature.

    Handle the EC -344 gently and carefully.  Dropping it can damage the
    circuit boards and cause the EC-344 to work improperly.

    Wipe the EC-344 with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
    Do  not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents
    to clean the EC-344.

    Use only a fresh battery of the required size and type.  Always remove
    an old or weak battery.  It can leak chemicals that can destroy the
    electronic circuits.

Modifying or tampering with the EC-344's internal components can cause a
malfunction and might invalidate the warranty.  If the EC-344 is not
performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for
assistance.
