REMOVING THE PLASTIC COVERING

The EC-344 is packaged with a plastic covering over the battery to insure
the battery is fresh when you get it.

Remove the plastic covering by pulling it off slowly.  The clock
immediately starts.

PREPARATION

SETTING THE KEY TONE ON AND OFF

You can set the EC-344 so a tone sounds each time you press a key.

To toggle the EC-344 between tone on and tone off, press CLOCK SYMBOL.
Then press and hold down Z for about 1 second.  A beep sounds to confirm
that the key tone is changed.

SETTING THE DATE AND TIME

1.  Press CLOCK SYMBOL.  The date and time appear on the display.

2.  Press and hold ENTER until ENTER appears in the display's lower left
    corner and the first month digit flashes.

3.  Using the number keys, ENTER the month, day of the month, day, of the
    month, and year on the first line.  Then, enter the current hour and
    minute on the second line.

    Note:  If you make a mistake, press VIEW to move forward or ERASE to
           move backward to the digit you want to change.  Then, ENTER the
           correct digit.

4.  Press AM/PM to set the clock to A(AM) or P (PM).

5.  Repeatedly press UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW to set the day of the week.

6.  Press ENTER to store the date and time.

    Note:  If the information you ENTER is invalid (for example, you enter
           15 for the month), the previous date and time is displayed
           after you press ENTER.
